General Terms of Use of the eBikemap service
Last updated: 9 July 2026
Applies to the website ebikemap.eu, PWA, and eBikemap apps (Android / iOS, eu.ebikemap.app).
1. Operator and acceptance
Operator: Martin Obert, Bojná, Slovak Republic — natural person, private operation, no registered business activity (no IČO). Contact: info@ebikemap.eu.
By using the service (website, app, account, or submitting content), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. Personal data processing is described in the Privacy Policy.
2. Service description
eBikemap is an informational and planning tool for cycling (especially e-bikes): maps, POIs (charging and services), route planning, battery/range estimates, weather, chat/assistant and related features. The service is not professional navigation, emergency service, or an official traffic information system.
3. No warranty - data, routes, map
- Map layers, routes (including BRouter calculations), elevation, distances and battery/range estimates are approximate.
- Charging and POI data may be incomplete, outdated or inaccurate.
- Weather and terrain outputs are modeled; real conditions can differ.
- You must always verify route legality, safety and real conditions before riding.
4. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for any damages related to use or inability to use the service (including health/property damage, data loss, wrong route guidance, or station unavailability). You use the service at your own risk.
5. User obligations
- Comply with applicable laws and traffic rules.
- Do not misuse the service or interfere with operation/security.
- Do not submit unlawful, misleading, abusive or harmful content.
- Do not upload photos/data you are not authorized to share.
6. User content (routes, stations, photos, messages)
- You are fully responsible for submitted content (text, coordinates, photos).
- By submitting content, you grant the operator a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use it for operation and promotion of the service (display, moderation, backup), for the necessary duration.
- The operator may review, edit, reject or remove content without prior notice, especially in case of Terms violations or reports.
- You can report issues via app functions or by email: info@ebikemap.eu.
7. Account
An account is optional. Sign-in may use email/password or Google/Apple. Account processing follows the Privacy Policy. You can delete your account at any time via https://ebikemap.eu/delete-account.php, which redirects you to the in-app account deletion section (you will be asked to sign in if you are not already logged in). Alternatively, you may request deletion by email at info@ebikemap.eu. The operator may suspend accounts in case of abuse.
8. Intellectual property and map data
The eBikemap brand, design and original operator content are protected. Map data may include OpenStreetMap and other licensed sources; applicable licenses and attributions must be respected. Third-party libraries (Leaflet, MapLibre, etc.) are subject to their own licenses.
9. Availability and service changes
The service is provided as is. Features may change, be limited, or discontinued at any time. These Terms may be updated; the latest date is shown above. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance where allowed by law.
10. AI assistant and generated content
- The chat assistant and optional route descriptions are generated by artificial intelligence (AI) via OpenAI — not by a human operator.
- You are informed in the app that you are interacting with an AI system (EU AI Act, Art. 50). AI-generated route text is labelled accordingly.
- AI outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete or outdated. They are for inspiration and planning only and do not replace your own judgement, map data, traffic rules, safety checks or professional advice.
- Do not rely on AI for emergency, medical, legal or navigation-critical decisions.
- Use of AI features is subject to the Privacy Policy (including processing by OpenAI).
11. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Slovak Republic. Slovak courts have jurisdiction unless mandatory consumer-law rules provide otherwise.
